With summer in full swing there are so many wonderful fresh veggies from our gardens, local farms and grocery stores. It's a fun time to cook and I love this sauce because it is a simple way to bring great flavor to a wide variety of meals while exerting very little effort. Whether it's a salad, veggies, meat, fries or even pizza, this sauce can make a delicious topping, dressing or dipping sauce.
This is a very easy recipe and can be made in large batches and stored in the fridge to use as a quick and delicious way to level up meals and snacks in a healthy way for yourself and your family..
Perfect meals to enjoy this with:
- Drizzling over grilled veggies or use it as a marinade (corn on the cob!)
- As a salad dressing
- As a marinade for chicken, beef or seafood
- Adding to a stir fry at the end of cooking
- As a dipping sauce for bread or veggie sticks
- As a twist to fish tacos
- Over avocado toast
- Even drizzled over pizza!
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup Tahini
- 1/4 Cup Olive Oil
- 2 TBPS Apple Cider Vinegar (raw and unfiltered is always tastiest and most beneficial)
- 1 TBSP Smoked Hot Pepper Infused Raw Honey
- 1" Cube Ginger Root
- 2 Cloves Garlic (or more for the garlic lovers)
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- Large Pinch of Black Pepper
- 1 TBSP Fresh Squeezed Lemon
Recipe:
This recipe can be mixed by hand using a fork in a pint size jar or by blending in a blender or food processor. If you are using a blender or a food processor, leave the lemon juice until the very end of blending. Once you add the lemon juice, only blend the sauce for a few second to thoroughly mix. The reason is that a high speed blender can sometimes cause the sauce to separate when the waters of the juice are added to early.
This sauce is creamy and drizzle-able.
- Get out a pint sized jar if you're mixing by hand or your blender or food processor if going that rout.
- Add your tahini, olive oil, apple cider vinegar and smoked hot pepper infused honey.
- With a fine cheese grater, grate your ginger root and grate (or crush) the cloves of garlic, add to the mix.
- Add salt and pepper
- Stir or blend until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth (if blending with an electric mixing device, be aware not to over blend, only blend until the sauce becomes creamy and thoroughly mixed)
- Add fresh squeezed lemon juice and mix that in briefly until all the ingredients are nicely blended.
THATS ALL!! Now you have a delicious sauce that's a little sweet, a little spicy, with a nice body of flavor and texture, definitely delicious, that you can eat in one meal or enjoy over the week.
This will keep at least 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator.
