Madrone Cooking & Serving Spoon ~ Hand Crafted Kitchen Utensils
Hand carved from beautiful native and sustainably sourced madrone wood. This spoon will make a wonderful functional art piece for your kitchen. The flat end will allow you to scrape the pan and serve up dinner or dessert.
This Trees Story
The Pacific Madrone is an evergreen member of the heath family (Ericaceae), closely related to blueberries, mountain laurels, rhododendrons, and manzanita. They are relics of Madro-Tertiary geoflora that lived on this same land millions of years ago. They are a striking tree with beautiful red bark and a curving twisting growth pattern.
This tree lived to a ripe old age and fell naturally on her own during a storm. We harvested and dried the wood, preparing it for carving. This is one of the beauties that came from this tree. A one-of-a-kind piece of function art for your kitchen and home.
