This Trees Story
The Pacific Madrone is an evergreen member of the heath family (Ericaceae), closely related to blueberries, mountain laurels, rhododendrons, and manzanita. They are relics of Madro-Tertiary geoflora that lived on this same land millions of years ago. They are a striking tree with beautiful red bark and a curving twisting growth pattern.
This tree lived to a ripe old age and fell naturally on her own during a storm. We harvested and dried the wood, preparing it for carving. This is one of the beauties that came from this tree. A one-of-a-kind piece of function art for your kitchen and home.
Care Instructions:
We've finished this piece with our bees wax and food grade mineral oil wood conditioner for a longer life.
Don't let wood soak in water.
Never use harsh scouring pads.
Hand-wash only, not dishwasher safe.
This is a natural wood and can get some staining over time, this is natural and okay, it's part of your story now.
