This long handled cherry wood spoon has a unique shape, long handled with a long drop shaped spoon and a comfy hold for your thumb. It was designed so it sits perfectly on your counter or table. It is a piece to display as much as to use. The wood often has a will of its own and this has a horse shoe at the very end of the handle.
This Pieces Story
Like every piece, this is a one-of-a-kind item. This particular piece came from an old cherry tree near an area that was once a gold rush town and before that, a Native American resting point indicated by the many grinding stones found around the forrest. This cherry tree was dead standing with an impressive diameter of 19 inches and standing 60 feet tall. An unusually large wild cherry tree! In an effort to clean the forrest for fire safety we harvested this tree and are giving it new life in your homes by making beautiful functional art pieces like this one.
Care Instructions:
We've finished this piece with our bees wax and food grade mineral oil wood conditioner for longer life.
Don't let wood soak in water.
Never use harsh scouring pads.
Hand-wash only, not dishwasher safe.
This is a natural wood and can get some staining over time, this is natural and okay, it's part of your story now.
